PikiDup Brings an Affordable Bicycle Delivery Service to Alabama, Klerksdorp

PikiDup is a new affordable bicycle delivery service in Alabama, Klerksdorp, created to make everyday errands easier for local residents while also opening possible work opportunities for unemployed youth.

Founded by Rosswan Holland, the start-up currently operates with one bicycle and focuses on local deliveries and pick-ups within Alabama. Its services include groceries, takeaways, gifts and small errands for people who may not be able to get to the shops easily.

For Rosswan, the idea is about more than convenience. PikiDup was started to support the community, especially elderly residents and people who live far from the items they need. By using bicycles, the business also aims to grow in an eco-friendly way.

A Simple Service for Everyday Needs

PikiDup helps residents by collecting and delivering items directly to their door. This may include groceries, takeaway meals from local food outlets, gifts for loved ones, or items from nearby shops.

The current advertised price for local deliveries and pick-ups within Alabama is R15. Customers can contact PikiDup by phone or WhatsApp to arrange a delivery.

The service is designed to reduce travel, waiting in queues and the stress of trying to reach shops that may be too far away. For elderly residents, busy households and people without easy transport, this kind of local support can make a meaningful difference.

Turning One Bicycle Into a Bigger Dream

Starting the business was not easy. Rosswan first had to save enough money to buy a reliable bicycle before PikiDup could begin operating.

Today, that single bicycle represents the beginning of a much bigger vision.

“I started PikiDup because I wanted to solve two problems: helping people who struggle to get what they need and creating job opportunities. There are many unemployed young people who want to work, and my dream is to grow this business so they can earn something and help their families,” says Rosswan Holland, founder of PikiDup.

At present, PikiDup has one bicycle on the road. Rosswan’s short-term goal is to grow to at least 10 bicycles serving Alabama and Jouberton. His long-term vision is to expand to 100 bicycles across Klerksdorp.

That growth plan is closely linked to youth employment. Rosswan hopes that, over time, PikiDup can help create opportunities for unemployed young people by giving them something productive to do and a way to earn money to support themselves and their families.

Looking for Support to Grow

As a new local start-up, PikiDup is also looking for sponsorship and support from individuals, organisations and businesses who believe in Rosswan’s vision.

Support through additional bicycles, delivery boxes, safety equipment, uniforms or business resources could help PikiDup expand faster, reach more residents and create more opportunities for unemployed youth.

“My biggest hope is to find people who believe in this idea and can help me grow it. With more bicycles, we can help more customers and give more young people a chance to work. PikiDup is not only about deliveries, it is about building something positive for our community,” Rosswan adds.

A Community-Focused, Eco-Friendly Vision

PikiDup’s use of bicycles is part of its wider vision. The business aims to become an eco-friendly local delivery organisation while keeping costs affordable for residents.

Bicycle delivery can work well in neighbourhoods where short-distance errands are common. It keeps the service local, flexible and accessible.

As the business grows, the aim is to have more riders available in more parts of Klerksdorp, helping connect residents with shops, takeaways and local services.

How Residents Can Use PikiDup

Residents can contact PikiDup when they need something collected, delivered or purchased from a nearby shop. The service can assist with groceries, takeaways, gifts and local pick-ups.

Customers may arrange payment directly with the business. According to the advertisement, customers can send money to the business bank account or use a speed point option with a driver where available.

For Alabama residents who need a simple, affordable and local way to get essential items delivered, PikiDup offers a practical new service rooted in community support.
