If you’ve lived anywhere between Klerksdorp, Orkney, and Stilfontein, chances are you’ve already seen the cheerful smile of Chloë Petersen — the creative force behind Polished by C. Chloë isn’t just a nail technician; she’s a nail artist, with the emphasis firmly on art. Her mobile nail studio launched in June 2024, born from a simple idea she shared with her mother: to offer something different in nail care — comfort and convenience. “Not everyone has the time to sit in a salon for two or three hours,” Chloë laughs. “People are more relaxed in their own homes.” Her expertise lies in nail art, but her service list also includes manicures, pedicures, and soon full-body waxing, to be introduced in mid-November 2025. Chloë admits that being an introvert made starting her own business a challenge, but it’s pushed her far beyond her comfort zone. Her mother remains her greatest inspiration, teaching her the value of hard work. When asked about her favourites, Chloë doesn’t hesitate: TikTok, sushi, and the colour pink (which, she teases, clashes with this writer’s favourite — green). She also has a sixteen-year-old sister who sometimes, willingly or not, becomes her “test subject” for new designs. For Chloë, Polished by C is more than a business — it’s a way to bring art, ease, and a touch of sparkle to her clients’ everyday lives.
