Lichtenburg – On 20 September 2025, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted its annual Donor Awards Ceremony at Scotts Manor Guest House, recognising over 100 dedicated donors for their life-saving contributions of blood, platelets and plasma. The evening was a heartfelt celebration of those who give selflessly to save others.
Guests were welcomed by Shivanie Lutchmann, Head of Donor Relations, while Betty Mabaso, SANBS Donor Manager, delivered a powerful keynote address highlighting the impact of sustained blood donation across South Africa. Donors received certificates honoring milestone achievements — with the minimum recognition starting at 50 units, and the highest honor awarded to a donor who has given an extraordinary 275 units to date.  Between heartfelt speeches and moments of applause, guests enjoyed the warm, elegant atmosphere that reflected the spirit of generosity at the heart of SANBS.
