North West urged to donate as blood stocks run low
Blood stocks are running low, and Klerksdorp residents are being urged to donate. Patients rely on blood for many reasons, including after accidents, during surgery, complications in childbirth, and treatment for serious illnesses.
When blood is in short supply, it may be more difficult to have the right blood available for every patient who needs it. This can create uncertainty for patients and their families, and in some cases planned procedures or treatments may need to be reviewed or delayed until supplies are available. Donations help ensure that blood is there when patients need it most.
Residents who are eligible to donate blood are encouraged to visit their nearest donor center or one of this weekend’s blood drives:
Saturday, 24 October 2026
Orkney Spar — 09:00–14:00

Every donation can help save lives. Please consider donating and encouraging friends and family to do the same.
