Support organisations on site
The expo also gives exhibitors and visitors direct access to organisations that work with businesses in the agricultural sector. The Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Seriti Institute and Protek will all be present on the day to share information about their services and the support available to entrepreneurs and businesses. Visitors will be able to speak to them in person and find out what support is available for their own ventures.
The expo’s theme is “Growing Farmers, Growing Markets, Growing the Local Economy”, and the day is built around showcasing, networking and supporting agricultural development. For the Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market, the expo creates a platform to bring people, products and possibilities together in one place.
Agro-processing, one of the sectors invited to exhibit, covers businesses that turn farm produce into value-added products such as juices, preserves, baked goods and other processed foods. Together with the farmers who grow the produce and the entrepreneurs who sell it, they make up the value chain the expo wants to put on show.
A day for the public too
Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend. Entry is free, and visitors can explore the exhibition, meet the exhibitors and support local farmers, producers and entrepreneurs. And because it takes place at Matlosana Mall, a visit to the expo is easy to combine with a normal Saturday shopping trip.
Our view
Events like this matter for a local economy. They put producers, support organisations and the public in the same place on the same day, and entry and stalls are free. For any farmer or small business looking for a place to showcase its products, a free stall at Matlosana Mall is worth a phone call.
The Farmers Agro Expo gives the region’s growers, producers and agro-processors one day and one place to be seen. Here’s hoping the stalls are full on 14 November – and that Klerksdorp comes out to support them.
In short: The Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market hosts the Farmers Agro Expo 2026 at Matlosana Mall in Klerksdorp on Saturday, 14 November, from 09:00. Entry and stalls are free, tables and chairs are provided, and organisers ask exhibitors to secure stalls by 11 November.
